Compare a 2026 HUMMER EV Pickup 2X and R1T Dual Large: range evidence, adventure cargo, package choices and practical ownership checks.

HUMMER EV or R1T: name the adventure you actually take
Investigate the HUMMER EV Pickup for the specific fitted roof, steering or off-road equipment you want to use. Investigate the R1T when its gear-tunnel and bed arrangement better fit your travel kit. Demonstrate the relevant hardware and measure your parking and cargo space. We have not conducted a trail test, so this article does not rank off-road performance.
The selected examples are the 2026 HUMMER EV Pickup 2X and the 2026 R1T Dual Large with 22-inch wheels. The R1T is not an earlier Quad-Motor truck or a 2027 Premium trim, and the HUMMER is neither the SUV nor a 3X with another battery. Substituting those specifications would answer a different comparison.

Fields unavailable for every selection are omitted; individual gaps are marked. Range cells show their rating basis. Maximum towing requires the stated equipment; it is not the rating of every vehicle in a trim. MSRP/list prices are dated U.S. base prices before destination, taxes, fees, options, and incentives; see each price’s publication date and notes.

Configuration notes and source details
2026 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup · 2X
Pickup only; HUMMER EV SUV specifications are not interchangeable. Module count is not usable battery capacity in kWh.
Towing and payload remain unverified for this exact configuration. GMC’s towing supplement directs owners to the individual truck’s Trailering Information Label.
This is an EPA configuration label, which may cover multiple retail trims. Wheel, tire, and equipment differences matter. A record does not confirm current retail availability.
Treat the rating basis as part of the range number
The selected HUMMER has a 316-mile GM estimate; the selected R1T has a 329-mile EPA rating. That is not a controlled 13-mile real-world win for Rivian because the evidence bases differ. GMC also quotes a different estimate for the 2X with Extreme Off-Road equipment. Keep the actual package, wheels and source attached to the number.
The R1T includes EPA wall-energy consumption, while a matching reviewed consumption figure is absent for this HUMMER retail definition. Do not derive missing consumption or usable battery capacity from the advertised range. Explore labeled cost scenarios instead, then seek comparable measured evidence for the route, speed and conditions that matter to you.
Equipment changes the trip as well as the purchase
Make an inventory of the cargo you want enclosed, the gear you need while the bed is loaded and the time required to access it. Operate the R1T’s fitted tonneau and gear tunnel and the HUMMER’s actual roof and cargo equipment under their manuals. A feature is useful only if it works with your passengers, parking and routine.
Rivian rates Gen 2 Dual Large at 7,700 lb with a weight-distributing hitch, or 5,000 lb without one. The selected HUMMER still lacks an exact verified towing figure here; GMC directs owners to its Trailering Information Label. Obtain both trucks’ loading and equipment evidence, then check trailer-compatible charging and campsite access.
The shortlist should survive ordinary ownership
Check charging-port hardware and approved adapters on the individual truck. Rivian distinguishes older CCS vehicles from its 2026-onward NACS vehicles; do not carry an older owner’s equipment list forward automatically. Confirm current network access, home cable reach and the backup station you could actually use.
The dated HUMMER 2X and R1T vehicle-price references are not current asking prices or active offers. Obtain complete purchase, insurance and tire quotes, and research remaining warranty and service arrangements for the exact VIN. Use the ownership calculator with those inputs. Shortlist the truck whose specific adventure features still make sense on the workdays between trips.
